Frostmaw Shard
The Top-Right Shard quest asks for the Mysterious Shard, one of the four pieces of the Seal of the Underworld. The shard’s main source is Frostmaw, a level 60 ice beast: killing it completes The Frostmaw quest in the Fallen Myths chapter, which hands out the shard. Witches drop it too, rarely.
Requirements#
Both of:
- Act I Complete
- the Fallen Myths checkmark, the first quest of the Fallen Myths chapter. It is reached from Act II through Dungeons and Combat → Fallen Myth (see Dungeons and Combat Bosses).
Objectives#
Have a Mysterious Shard (in game it is called “Mysterious Shard”).
Top-Right Shard (Act II)
Can be obtained by defeating the Frostmaw (see Fallen Myths quest chapter), or a rare drop from Witches, slay and loot to find one.

- Blessed Gold Ingot
- A roll on Flawed Gems (one rare gem)
Walkthrough#
- Open Fallen Myths from the Fallen Myth link quest and click its first checkmark.
- Find a sleeping Frostmaw in a snowy biome. See Frostmaw: stealing its Ice Crystal first removes its ranged attacks.
- Kill it. The Frostmaw quest gives the shard, a Wisdom Scroll, an Ice Sickle and a spell scroll.
- The Top-Right Shard quest completes as soon as the shard is in your inventory.
Tip
Witches have two separate 10% chances to drop the shard: one from Nether Remastered and one from Soulrend’s extra mob drops. Witch farming is an alternative to fighting Frostmaw.
