Vanguard Sword
Vanguard Sword is a sword from EpicFight Nightfall; its in-game name is written “[Vanguard Sword]” and its item id is efn:sword_of_pioneer. It is weapon 50 of 50 in Bladesworn Battallion, a Pursuit of Mastery quest chapter, and the last quest in it. It is a saber for the king’s vanguard, with a combo that ends in a hilt strike that breaks defenses.
Obtaining#
It is made at a Smithing Table with Soulrend’s upgrade recipe. The base is either of the chapter’s two bloodline swords, the Crimson Sovereign or the Crimson Bloodweave. The template is a Dragon Banner and the addition an Galactic Core (dropped by the Decaying King in the Past; see Esoteric Material). The upgrade keeps the base’s enchantments, gems and affixes (see Upgrading Gear).
The undead Rotten Knights of the Past carry one (Rotten Soldiers).

Its innate skill is Active Skill-Breaching Combo: “Initiate with rapid slashes, then break defenses with a hilt strike”. The moves are under Moveset. The game has an advancement for obtaining it, “Vanguard’s Legacy”, whose text says the saber “still bears the crest of the first Nether expedition” and that its edge “has tasted demon blood”.
