Factions
Factions is a side chapter about Valarian Conquest’s eight factions, each with its own castle, gear and units. Defeating a faction’s soldiers earns its citizenship item; consuming a citizenship makes that faction’s units neutral or willing to follow your commands.
Requirements#
- New Faces, New Stories in Act I opens the Factions checkmark (“Many Houses Scatter the Realm”), which gives a Relinquish Citizenship.
Factions
There are 8 factions in Soulrend, each with their own unique gear, units, and citizenship.
To earn citizenship to any faction, you must defeat the Soldiers of said faction and claim citizenship. Once obtaining citizenship you may consume it to make all units of that faction neutral or follow your commands.
Quests#
Each faction quest has two tasks: find the faction’s castle, and kill a number of Valarian soldiers (valarian_conquest:soldier, any faction).
| Faction | Structure | Soldiers | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Valarian | Valarian Castle | 10 | Valarian Citizenship, a roll on Lucky |
| Burgundian | Burgundian Castle | 20 | Burgundian Citizenship, Copper Chest Upgrade |
| Orleanian | Orleanian Castle | 30 | Orleanian Citizenship, Iron Chest Upgrade |
| Hospitaller | Hospitaller Castle | 40 | Hospitaller Swordsman, Gold Chest Upgrade |
| Templar | Templar Castle | 50 | Templar Citizenship, Diamond Chest Upgrade |
| Bohemian | Bohemian Outpost | 60 | Bohemian Citizenship, Crystal Chest Upgrade |
| Visgothian | Visgothian Castle | 70 | Visgothian Citizenship, Obsidian Chest Upgrade |
| Barathian | Barathian Castle | 80 | Barathian Citizenship, Netherite Chest Upgrade |
Note
The Hospitaller quest gives a Hospitaller Swordsman unit item, not a Hospitaller citizenship.
Tips#
- Soldier kills count toward every faction quest that is open at the time, so open several at once.
